Kite Party–Lots of High Flying Fun!

Kite Party in Spring

Spring plus kites equal kite making and kite flying as a perfect birthday theme for a spring kite party. Regardless of the age (best above 5), there is a kite pattern that will turn a party into a great day of memories.  Here is a great example of how kite making turns into a successful kids’ birthday party: The kite making and kite flying are the perfect party activity (aside from eating the dessert) and the kite becomes the perfect party favor to take home.

Kite Party Planning

The invitation in the shape of a kite sets the tone and the excitement; the kite making and  flying at the kite party provide the action and fun of seeing your own handiwork actually fly. All this to be finished  by a great piece of birthday cake in the shape of a kite. There are many kite dessert and invitation ideas on Pinterest; just be specific in your search. We have a Kite Party page on our Pinterest site that might help you with ideas.

If the weather is not good, the group can assemble and decorate the kite kits. Weather improves and you have a beautiful day to take the newly made kites outdoors to fly. The kite party becomes a wonderful memory of a great family or friend get-together. You only need to take our kit and provide tape, scissors and decorating items such as permanent markers. Pre-cut sticks and kite string wrapped around plastic handles come with the kit. I would also recommend your taking (or asking us to include in the order, at no cost) newspaper bags for bringing the finished kite home. The kites fold up for ease in transport.

Successful Kite Party

Another example of a successful kite party:

We had grandparents on the east coast send a kite kit to their grandson on the west coast for his birthday party theme.

We wrote: “The kite kit arrived on Friday.  Hope the party was successful and your grandson thought he had wonderful grandparents.”

They responded: Our grandson “loved the kites and I think that his Nana and Papa rose to new heights in his eyes as he flew his kite. Thanks again for your help!” Great pun–great party!

  1. Thanks a million for shipping when you said you would. The Fly Me Kites arrived just in time for my Cub Scout Pack meeting. The boys had a ball evan though we had a calm with not much wind. Your easy to follow instructions were particularly welcomed by mothers and a few dads who knew nothing about kite making. I got lots of compliments for the kite selection.
